The American political bullshit situation

I've always wondered exactly why everything is so restricted nowadays. Take for example gun laws (oh fuck yeah, i'm going there!) Let me first state that my views on gun laws are based entirely off of a logical standpoint rather than any political views. And for all you gun law activists, let me make something very clear: guns do not kill people. People with guns kill people. Guns just help with the efficiency. And before you say that restricting gun ownership helps reduce the number of school shootings, let me tell you two stories about Timmy the deranged high school student.

The first story takes place after Timmy has had enough with all the shitheads at his school that don't feed his overinflated ego, so he decides to get attention by slaughtering them. He is able to get his hands on a katana through a shady dealer, and hides it in his backpack. The next day at school, he pulls out the blade and goes on a gorey killing spree, wiping out the entire school before he is shot dead by the police.

The second story is much the same, although in this version, guns are freely available and regarded as tools rather than scary death monsters. Timmy gets fed up with the lack of attention given to him, he goes to Joe's shady sword dealership, gets a katana and takes it to school. However, this time when he pulls it out and kills the poor kid in front of him, his brains are immediately blown out the back of his skull by little Susie, who brought in her dad's Barrett .50-cal sniper rifle for show and tell that day. Timmy also receives two shots in the torso from the teacher and all the kids that have pistols and are trained to use them.

These two stories show how having very little gun laws actually reduces the amount of deaths caused by gun violence, and that school killings are easy to perform even without guns. Don't get this twisted though. I still think that gun usage should be restricted, but only when a person who has a very high chance of being shot (such as the president of the USA, the pope, the emperor of china, etc.) is going to be in a public place, because not restricting guns in this specific instance would be asking for said authority figure to be shot.

Another thing that gun law activists don't seem to be able to get through their skulls is that creating gun laws that restrict ownership of guns does not reduce the number of guns on the streets n the hands of wrongdoers. It just increases the number of people that illegally own guns, even if they have it for self-defense purposes only. Personally, I think that anybody that shoots someone else in cold blood while in the midst of many gun-carrying law abiding citizens deserves every single slug, pellet, and bullet that enters their body as they contemplate why they were stupid enough to think that buying a gun meant they had a license to kill. Also, serial killers would be less prevalent if all their victims carried guns. It's a lot harder to abduct and kill someone if they just blew your sternum and spinal cord to kingdom come while you were trying to chase them around with your scary knife and chloroform-soaked rag.

One caveat to add on to the end of this little knowledge bomb: less restrictions on guns also means that the police should have access to more firepower and more armor. Not necessarily tanks, but upgrading the patrol cars to have bulletproof windows seems like a logical choice even right now.
